Palladium diversified with the times and opened its shoe factory in France and started manufacturing shoes and boots. In 1947 the first classical Pampa, a pair of boots was made and was an instant success impressing the French market so much so that the French Foreign Legion decided to use them in their North African and Atlas mountain expeditions. The rugged terrain was a perfect setting to try out these boots and proved them to be both durable and reliable.
