Levi’s Vintage is part of the Levi’s clothing range, but it’s not your standard fare. When you have a brand with such a strong history like Levi’s you can afford to experiment with premium materials, take a few styles out of the archive and be a bit bolder with some of the patterns and weaves.
Levi’s was founded way back, yes way back in 1853 when a Bavarian called Levi Strauss moved to San Francisco and seen a gap in the market for creating durable hard wearing clothing for all the miners that had raced to San Francisco to pursue the gold rush of the day.
In 1873 Levi's received their first patent for making denim pants with a rivet, they had created the first pair of blue denims, over 139 years ago. ?The first modern jeans as we would know them appeared in the 1920’s, they were popular with workers like lumberjacks, rail road workers, in the 1930’s the cowboys adopted the denim pant as their uniform and the long association with the wild west and later outlaw bikers began.
During the 50’s, 60’s & 70’s every social group from Hippies to skinheads adopted the Levi's denim jean as their uniform of choice and Levi’s became synonymous with youth culture. Levi’s have partnered with many brands over the years, Nike SB, Filson & Medicom to name but a few, and after a period where they fell out of favour with the kids, the love is back, the Vintage range pulls from the Archives and the heritage of Levi’s Vintage shines through.
