Edwin jeans is a well known and respected denim brand in the world of fashion. Edwin is known for providing superior quality jeans at affordable prices.
Edwin was founded in 1947 just after the war when clothing manufacture was still being re established in Japan. The founder KK Tsunemi found he had to import used denim in order to meet demand. Some of the imported cloth had to washed and mended in order to make it usable.
A few years later, denim was made in Japan however was found to be of inferior quality compared to its US counterpart and so Mr Tsunemi looked to manufacture his own line of jeans that would be known for its washes and quality and superior fit.
In 1961 the first pair of Edwin jeans were made. He took the word 'denim' and spun the letter 'M' and changed it to the letter 'W' and created the brand name 'Edwin'.
The slogan of Edwin jeans is to search, keep standards high and give innovative stuff with artistic skills. In 1963 the worlds heaviest ring spun jeans weighing 16oz was made featuring the famous 3 colour rainbow proved a hit project which is still in use today.
Over the next few decades the brand has produces a variety of washes and colours which changed the way jeans all over the world have been made. Edwin was the first company to pioneer 'stone wash' which was pivotal within the denim industry and pioneered the way denim has been manufactured ever since.
Edwin continues to push the boundaries in terms of styles, designs and materials and washes. It used innovative and modern technology to produce the jeans to exceptionally high standards and this is reflective in the pricing structure.
Edwin has numerous styles available in various weights and washes. One of the most common styles being ED-55 where each individual jeans price is reflective of the weight of material used and the wash the Jean is finished in.
