Crooks & Castles have been kicking up a storm over in the states for almost 10 years with their wild styles and OTT colour palette, the gaudy logos and the Versace styled Medusa logo have found the brand with an avid following over the Atlantic.
Crooks & Castles see themselves as the villain’s of the piece, growing up in the ‘Da Hood’ self styled gangsters and this gangsta living is portrayed in their graphics, apparel and outlook on life. They started a brand with no knowledge on how to start a brand, ran a brand with no knowledge on how to run a brand and picked it up as they went along.
If you look through the Crooks T range you will see high end brands logo, taken modified, and given the Crooks typical treatment, where they are almost streetified, you then have kids hanging out on the block wearing a Versace/Gucci take down, all so very street. Over in the UK, the Crooks range you’ll see is a toned down version, we don’t have the same social references or ‘Bell-Air’ ghettos, and we have Moss-side, Brixton & Castlemilk.
The Airgun has blown up and something as simple as this has taken Crooks to a whole new level, kids that had never heard of the brand are now sporting the Airgun logo and with a few tweaks, colour changes, camo patterns, the Airgun logo looks like it has given the brand the recognition it needed, so long live Crooks & Castles
