Converse is a highly reputed brand that is rightly known for manufacturing finest quality footwear. Its head office is located in America. It is famous for making sports footwear and athletic shoes.

The brand was founded in 1908. Marquis Mills Converse was the passionate person who used his initiative to make the first pair of shoes from rubber. He made footwear for both men, women and children. His shoes were liked by the public due to the high quality of rubber used which made made it soft and easily pliable. Mr. Converses' name became the identity of the brand due to the same characteristics that he himself encapsulated such as sincerity, enthusiasm and faith in himself which he obviously wanted identify and espouse within his company.

At the start Converse made almost 4000 shoes per day. Currently its footwear is worn by many sportsmen who play football and basketball and the range of shoe products include runners and sneakers. In American history an American player won a match with the highest score while he was wearing Converse and from this time, these shoes are synonymous with winning.

Converse also provided shoes to the US army during WW Two. It has consistently promoted and maintained quality since its first launch.

In 2003 Nike proposed to work with the brand to as part of a mutual collaboration in return for a considerable sum of money to which Converse agreed. Hit collaboration projects include Chuck Taylor and the Weapon along with various others such as Jack Purcell. .

New projects include shoes that are to be sold for charity to make the World free from HIV and Aids.
