Converse is quite a remarkable brand. Not only has it been around since 1908, it also continues to produce trainers using designs that have not changed much for the past century. Even to this day, Converse trainers are very popular and fashionable – there are not many shoe companies that have been around for so long and experienced so much success.

Converse remains a unique and interesting brand because, unlike most other brands, its designs have changed very little over the last one hundred years. With the amazing amount of change that has taken place in the last century, Converse’s ability to stay fashionable yet predictable is what makes it so alluring. For this reason, it has produced many shoes which are now regarded as ‘iconic’.

This brand has had a very interesting history, starting out as a rubber shoe manufacturer back in 1908. However, it wasn’t until 1921 when Converse really gained momentum. In this year, Chuck Taylor, a famous basketball player, started to wear Converse trainers during his basketball matches. This is what really launched the brand and its popularity amongst the public. Converse also recruited Chuck as a salesman and ambassador for the brand.

Converse Trainers, an Icon For Sports

The Chuck Taylor All Star Basketball Shoes became one of the most iconic pair of trainers ever produced by Converse. Although the company suffered in 2001, in the next couple of years it went on to become one of the most successful footwear companies in the world, and was acquired by Nike in 2003. Converse trainers are still worn by a number of players who play for the NBA. They are loved by both basketball players and the fashion-conscious.

In addition to trainers, Converse also produce other athletic apparel and clothing such as jeans. What started as the Converse shoe company in the early 21st century has turned into one of the biggest and most iconic brands in the world.
